Book by Charleston Author Aims to Quench Thirst for Readers and Needy with Donations to Water Missions
Charleston,
SC — Author Candice Johnson is hoping to quench both spiritual and physical
thirsts with her book, Thirsting for Peace (Epiphany Press). Johnson is
donating a portion of book sales to Water Missions International (WMI), a
Charleston-based nonprofit organization that manufacturers and delivers
portable water treatment units to areas around the world in need of clean
drinking water.
Thirsting
for Peace: The Healing Message of Forgiveness is part of the “Pieces to Peace” series on
spiritual wholeness. The series includes seven books—five written by
Johnson—designed to be used individually or in small groups. While the books
are beneficial to any individual or group study, they are especially helpful to
individuals exploring the healing message God offers to those wounded by trauma
and abuse.
“After
learning about Water Missions International, I decided to donate from sales of
one of the books of this series, and this one seemed best,” Johnson says. “Not
only does the title fit the cause, but the subject matter—the healing to be
found in forgiveness—is a topic that would be valuable for any individual or group
study.”
The
amount Johnson is donating will provide clean drinking water for one person for
a year for each book sold.
“This
is an amazing gift,” says Molly Green, president and co-founder of Water
Missions International. “Just imagine—if a Sunday school class purchased these
for a study, they could provide entire neighborhoods with clean drinking water.
And the gift they give themselves with a study on forgiveness is just
wonderful.”
The
books can be ordered from Epiphany Press, a division of Tidal Creek
Productions, at www.tidalcreekproductions.com. More information about Water
